Madame Blavatsky’s legendary travels through Tibet, where she supposedly obtained “mystical wisdom” from Hindu spiritual masters, occurred directly under the line of her Primary Neptune. Cofounder of the Theosophical Society, she had amassed a worldwide following of over 100,000 by the time of her death, in 1891.

The nature of the Primary Transcendental Planet

As the following studies illustrate, the least aspected planet symbolizes a primary motivational factor in the lives of ordinary–and extraordinary–people. The qualities traditionally associated with the planetary symbol in question will manifest in the forefront of the personality and in the professional life.
Frequently, there are symbolic parallels between the birth locations, the travel regions, or the relocations of clients and their least aspected lines. There are also parallels between the psychological work that many clients are involved with (e.g., spiritual discipline, meditation, self-reflection) and the symbolism of the LAPs in question. The Primary Transcendental, the Secondary Transcendental, and the Transcendental Midpoint-Field (which is formed between the two) will reflect such keynote symbolism, especially as it is expressed in daily life.
Often, Primary Locations symbolically reflect encounters that may result in larger social, cultural, or historical ramifications, for the Primary Transcendental corresponds to a singular guiding principle within the life of the native. The Transcendental represents a function that links a creative psychic potential to a conscious awareness of this potential–and to the conscious means of achieving it. It enables us to transcend the perimeters of ordinary, ego-bound consciousness by linking the ego-structure with a more essential center of psychic energy (i.e., the archetypal, higher Self).

The Transcendental Midpoint-Field

Frequently, people are born under a least aspected line, or are compelled to relocate to its vicinity, but, occasionally, the second least aspected planet is also found in proximity to the birthplace or area of relocation. When the lines of the Primary and Secondary Transcendentals run in proximity to each other, the area between them is highly charged and will hold a special significance for the native.
Such regions are called Transcendental Midpoint-Fields, and in the center of such fields we may posit a theoretical line representing the midpoint between the Primary and Secondary Transcendentals. The visionary French poet Arthur Rimbaud is one example of a famous birth in a Transcendental Midpoint-Field; Ethel Barrymore (“the first lady of the American theater”) is another. Occasionally, the third least aspected planet is in proximity to the Primary and Secondary Transcendentals; the combined force of all three may lead to events of great consequence. Richard Nixon’s historic “China Opening”–perhaps, the most significant and creative accomplishment of his otherwise scandal-ridden presidency–is an example of all three Transcendentals forming a narrow, highly charged Transcendental Midpoint-Field (TMF) over a significant location: the Chinese mainland.
