When the skies above Alamogordo desert were brightened by the eerie glow of the world’s first atomic explosion, Primary Mercury and Tertiary Pluto were setting over Hiroshima and Nagasaki in Japan, while Secondary Neptune (in its vertical, midnight posi­tion) was approaching the Alamogordo region, in New Mexico.
